Dotcomslashblog: A Lover of Many Things

Great post! I've read about the Voynich before, hadn't heard about the others. It's really mesmerizing, whether they're all just made for jolting the imagination or if they actually mean something.

While these manuscripts are certainly interesting and intriguing to ponder, and I’m sure quite beautiful in person, it hurts trying to get my head around the "why" of it. The amount of effort required to develop a language that you may be the only person alive who can understand it...certainly requiring more time and patience than I would ever have.

Unless it really is some sort of cipher, in which case it’s one for the ages, right? One in which the author may only be discovered when the rest of the puzzle is solved.

I've read about the Voynich manuscript in brief before and have found it all very facinating, but haven't had the time to delve into it more, which is the same story with many things.

When I get around to reading for pleasure again then this will be something to consider.

I knew about Voynich but had no idea about the others (until you mentioned them :) ). The why of the Codex Seraphinianus really is stunning. Trying to get into the mind of the author of that text is frightening. Reminds me of Dali.

As usual Nils, you provide great food for thought and research (because I didn't have enough already).
