I hear they're doing a remake now of The Wicker Man! Good god. The first thing I saw was exploding trucks. If you've never seen the original, try and find it in your specialty video store 'cause it's a masterpiece of mystery and suspense and you get to see Christopher Lee as an occultist hippie. Always a boon.

Re: Brideshead Revisited Revisited

This is a common problem of late, I think. The current trend leans toward constant repetition and re-hashing of "popular" themes in entertainment (be it print, television, movies, or otherwise). I believe it stems from a "marketing-driven" (not market-driven) environment and a plethora of get-rich-quick formula-followers. The sheer number of sequels, prequels, and reunion specials has rendered even our fondest memories of past delights stale and unsatisfying. It makes one want to say...

Enough already.

Re: Brideshead Revisited Revisited

not knowing her i can tell you that she bought it for you because she loved you and nothing to do with guilt. i'm glad you loved her present. presents when received with joy make the giver just as happy as the receiver. how sad to give something of joy to oneself and the other person not be impress or assume some negative idea to attach to it. enjoy your lifelong gift. may you have many more in your future, always entiwned with love.
