Maxmara, thanks for commenting. It amazes me how globally spread and generally loathed this phenomenon seems to be. Is there nothing we can do?

I would have to say i agree completely. When you have satellite t.v., not only do you get channels that are dedicated in bringing you the lamest "Lose all your money to a Genius six-year old who only speaks Korean" shows, but you also get the ones where former, washed-out child celebrities and upcoming nobodies try to make their mark on an audience. Television has become miserable.

Mrs. L: No TV whatsoever? Mmm, I couldn't deal with that, I think. So many good documentaries and art and history programmes there too. But the lure from addiction is there, I admit.

Adem: In fact we already had some questions asked in parliament, but they're not exactly battling these things from what I gather. I could hope it will all go away soon, but there'll probably be something even worse lurking in the wings.

I hate these programmes too and they're on around 5 channels in the UK, with several stations specifically for these 'quizes'. What a load of rubbish it is too.

The problem is that there must be a lot of people who do ring up and spend a lot of money.

I do think there should be some kind of review on them as they are virtually a scam.

We had preferred M*A*S*H too - at least they get you to laugh!

Personally, I find it not worth it to watch TV nowadays. There are so very few programs that have any worthy content and not many good movies either. Mr Lifecruiser do watch sometimes when he feel to tired to do anything else, but that is very seldom.

More and more of these cheap kind of program appears, it's a real pity. TV could have been educating in many fun ways.

Cuppojoe, man-o-man, you probably saw that fish on your Carribean cruise. Me, I've never heard of it. So, come and live over here. I'd be happy to trade places and get the 50 channels. No way, though, I'd pay for it.
