Dotcomslashblog: Why I Don’t Go Insane: September

  • Smaran · 3 years ago
My favourite months are October to February. The winter months in India, the only ones in which you can be out in the pleasant cool weather. The rest of the year it's raining or scalding hot.

My favourite would have to be December, because of the festivities and presents.

I'm afraid I have to say that summer (and the months of summer) are my favorite. I think it's because I'm Canadian and have had enough snow and ice to last a lifetime. When summer comes and this great land explodes with life and color, that's when I'm happiest.

Ah, yes. In your case I can appreciate that. But Calgary isn't the most tropical of places at any time of the year I bet. What altitude are you at again? Enough for me to die of lack of oxygen probably.

Hope you get an Indian Summer this year so you can enjoy things a bit longer!

I _do not_ want an Indian summer!! It's too freaking hot.

Ohhh. you mean Cuppojoe should get an Indian summer! My mistake.

i have often been excited for september as it is my bday month..then my daughter was born in it too and now i have double the reason to rejoice. but the kids going back to school is hard on me. i truly enjoy their company and miss them terribly when they go back. but it is as it should be and it is good for them to have their peers intereaction and it is healthy, whether i like it or not, for me to form a life that excludes them for a few hours. whether i like it or not, am prepared or not, they will someday fly the nest and then there will be me trying to make a life for myself.
i do enjoy the sandals and easiness that the warmer days bring but also just as much enjoy the fall, with it's mildest days and the boots and soft sweaters and beautiful leaves. it's the extremes that are not my cup of tea, whatever they may be.
i'm glad your days are happier now. i hope your hours keep on moving forward in a more peaceful and joyful manner. may the changing leaves and weather bring to you all the joy that i wish for all of us. in a perfect world it would be just that way always.

Me, really I think that september is really a good month. In the south of France after the july's canicule, the wind of august, after the tourist's invasion we have a nice Indian summer! And "la rentrée" now, as I'm teacher it's an important moment for me and for my two teen agers. And I hope it will a good year 2006/07! Monday I will discover my little pupils of 2 an 3 years old! I imagine This day will one of the more important in their life: the first day at school!!!
After comes automn: but I enjoy too: nice colour of the nature with red and yellow and brown leaf ... But no more I don't like the big rain, the wind, the cold our humid cold! But the days when the sun shine and when you can eat out in winter and look the waves of Mediterranée and the blue of the sky with only few people and children on the beach it's really a good time! Sure!
Sorry for my bad english,I 'm french! It' perhaps an excuse!

Summer in the south of France can be a scorcher yes. Good to hear that even winters can be okay for you there. I'd like that too — it's not that I want to see ice and snow all year round of course ;-)

Have a great school year with the little ones. Thanks for visiting and the comment. Drop by anytime you like. The English is no problem, it's what you share what counts!

So what you're saying are that you like to crawl back under your rock now, where it's dark and cozy? *lol*

OK, despite the fact that I have my birthday in October and there is Christmas in December, I'm quite the opposite from you. That's my worst months of the year...!!!

Usually we go in to hibernation during the winter.

I can't stand the darkness, rain, wind, cold and humidity - with all the pain in my very OLD aged body that comes with it.

We can trade, you can get my autumn and winter in exchange for your spring and summer?

Or please send me a jacuzzi.......

I'd have to agree with cuppojoe here. Every other season except for summer in Vancouver (yet another canadian city), would be filled with endless rain lasting for weeks and weeks.
Not a very good place to live if you suffer from depression caused by light-deprivation. :P

Yeah, rain is a difficult one for me. I like watching it but being in it for days on ends is another matter. We just had the wettest August ever and it just didn't seem to stop. So, not entirely be greatest weather either.

Can't say I hate the summer months since we're lucky to have some sun in the UK. The rest of the days are cold, wet, and windy, especially if you live up north of the country like me.

But autumn is always the best quarter of the year for me.

I rather like May - not too hot, but the beauty of light and warmth after those dreary early spring months. The countryside springs to life and is extraordinarily gorgeous in England, and the weather's often bizarre but never dull, with occasional days of translucent loveliness.

This was one of the worst summers that I can remember. I was either too hot to do anything or raining. In fact, it's still raining. I'm looking forward to a nice fall season this year.
