I don't think there is such a thing as German DVDs anymore ;-) But I guess wherever they come from or whatever you pay, you're never guaranteed quality anymore. I've seen people pay tons for deluxe boxes and what not and still get a messed up disc among them. Guess it's a sign of the times and just occasional bad luck. Hey, hope you do get to see the end, because although I'm not yet entirely sure whether it's a 'great' film, it certainly is very good.

I watched most of Goodbye Lenin the other day, but about 3/4 the way through, the DVD started skipping! What a waste of my aunt's Euros. And I thought German DVDs would be of a better quality than Indian ones. Looks like we know who the professional manufacturers really are, India and China!

Tony, thanks. I'm not that much of a techie and cleaning a keyboard isn't exactly something that'll get you on Digg these day anymore, is it? So, I thought, I'd write about the thoughts that came up while I sat there for 1 hour 15 minutes performing that mundane task. I'm happy with it and very glad you liked it too.

Aidan, I wish you lots of fun when your turn comes. You'll see it will trigger all sorts of interior monologues. Make sure you blog about them then!

Edrei, sure, books are immeasurably more fascinating, but you're right, as a form of meditation it was interesting. Perhaps I should start a small business: Zen Computer Repair?

Tylor, thanks for the visit and the comment. I liked it as well, but it still has to sink. I might write about it, but it needs some time I guess.

Adem, yeah, I remember that post. I seems that I was mistaken and that I had another film in mind. Weird. Some of those German films do look alike, don't they? Well, I definitely hadn't seen this one. If you 'like' German films that investigate the German society, I can definitely recommend Gegen die Wand (Head-On). Very harsh, but very funny at times too. Anyway, as far as those critters under my keys are concerned: they've all been evicted now!

Mrs. L, I'm trying commenting this way again to see if it works. A book? Well, I've had plenty of ideas in the past, both fiction and non-fiction. I've always wanted to do one about haunted houses in the city (no one's ever done it and there seem to be quite a few stories), even though I don't believe in it myself. Ah, maybe get my life and finances sorted first, eh? And trust me, you really don't want to see those pictures. If you keep insisting, though, I will e-mail you one. Don't come complaining afterwards, though ;-)

WHY don't you write a book? You have the capacity and skill for it.

Even though I maybe would have preferred to read something more interesting like: "Want to have a peep at my DIRTY keyboard..?" That could have meant almost anything ;-)

I watched 'Goodbye Lenin' a couple of months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I thought you'd already seen it, or are you finally going to watch it again?

Anyway, it's a good one.

Well, if you want to look at it in another way, it's also a form of meditation. To do something instinctively and without thought, reaching out from another perspective to see things in a new light.

Personally I just prefer a good book on my cozy bed, but that's just me. :)

I am in agreement with Tony, a well written story; I found it quite intriguing as well as interesting. I suppose your right in what you said about how meaningless some of the keys become once they’re all apart, I had never thought about that! But then again I haven’t cleaned my keyboard yet. Don’t worry it’s only a few months old, not as if it is years old lol.
